PaleoJoe has traveled across the United States on book tours with stops in Pennsylvania, Utah, Missouri, Arkansas, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Canada and all across Michigan.

Trilobite book

PaleoJoe’s first book A Pictorial Guide to North American Trilobites was published as a companion guide to his Trilobite exhibit.

His second book A Complete Guide to Michigan Fossils, published through the University of Michigan Press, is a basic field trip guide book and identification guide to common fossils found in Michigan.


His third book and first children’s book is Hidden Dinosaurs a wonderful picture book with fantastic illustrations by artist Jim DeWildt. It is a dinosaur seek-and-find book. There is a wonderful rhyming dinosaur story on each page as well as dinosaur data – actual information about dinosaurs and paleontology and on the bottom of the dino data there are small pictures depicting the “hidden” pictures found on those pages.

Dinosaur Sue

His fourth book and beginning of the chapter book series, PaleoJoe’s Dinosaur Detective Club, The Disappearance of Dinosaur Sue is the beginning of a 16 book series designed for students grades 2 through 6. They are mysteries and adventure books. The hero’s of the stories are two students, Shelly Brooks and Dakota Jackson. They endeavor to keep paleojoe out of trouble and help him solve prehistoric mysteries. Each book is a different prehistoric creature and each book is a different mystery. Hold on for great adventures and mysteries.

Dinosaur Detective Club

Other titles include Stolen Stegosaurus, Secret Sabertooth, Raptor’s Revenge and Mysterious Mammoth.

Future titles include but not limited to – Terrifying Triceratops, Sinister Sinornothosaurus and Crazy Camerasaurus.
