Rare PHAREODUS Fossil Fish

Eocene Epoch
Paleogene Period
Green River Formation

Exceptional and quite rare this PHAREODUS is huge. Measuring 16 inches long this is a show stopper!  Mounted and could be hung on a wall or a table stand.  The matrix measures 19.6 inches by 15.25 inches and is 1.5 inches thick.

The PHAREODUS was a carnivorous fish with some being found with other fish scales and bones in its stomach.  This fish is similar to a Piranha with a mouth holding numerous sharp teeth.

Comes from the famous Kemmerer Fossil beds of the Lost Lake and a story card describing how the fish were fossilized.

Specimen in the picture is the specimen you will receive.
