Description

Just look at the detail in this plate collected and cleaned by World Famous Trilobite Expert, Markus Martin. I wish this was larger and complete.

This is a museum quality Branchiocaris Phyllocarid half from the Marjum Shale of Millard County Utah. This is a great fossil that exhibits superb detail and it consists of the positive and negative of the creature head shield. Please look closely at the exquisite detail.

Here is a very desirable Branchiocaris Phyllocarid half from the Cambrian Period, the “Age of Trilobites.”  They lived, thrived, and became extinct Millions of years before the age of dinosaurs!  Trilobites spanned a time that  covered 5 periods spanning over 300 million years of Earth’s history. This was found and prepared by trilobite expert Markus Marin. Because of his vast knowledge and skill this Rare animal half  from Utah is prepared beautifully.

Markus is known world over because of his knowledge of these fossils. He has been digging trilobites and other fossils around the country and the world. Because of some of his finds were so special, he has published many papers on the subject of trilobites. Fossils from this location are also quite rare and because of that they do get expensive.

This is a split pair of a Cambrian Burgess Shale Type arthropod fossil. Phyllocarids are crustaceans with top shell that covers the head and thorax. Complete Phyllocarids have a segmented abdomen like tail that ends with three prongs called a telson.

This is a wonderful PHYLLOCARID segment. I wish it was complete but it is rare. This is an exceptional part of the carapace that exhibits superb detail.

Here is a quite rare and very desirable crustacean from the Cambrian Period, the “Age of Trilobites.”  They lived, thrived, and became extinct MILLIONS of years before the age of dinosaurs!
