Classic creature from the famous Ordovician deposits of Southern Ohio.

This is a Fossil Double Flexicalymene Trilobite. This is a wonderful group of a 3/4 enrolled fossil trilobite and a completely enrolled one. The trilobites came off the soft matrix were cleaned and then reattached as they were when found.

The trilobite is 3/4 enrolled was taken off the matrix, cleaned and reattached. These trilobites rolled up for protection from danger. But these Ordovician Period fossils are becoming more rare as this quarry is beginning to play out. These were recently prepared in our prep lab from a decades old stack of unprepared fossils from the Ohio.

The Fossil Double Flexicalymene Trilobite is one of the trilobites that is very well known in southern Ohio.  The trilobite is oval shaped and at first glance, The Trilobite method of rolling up is much like that of a rolly polly rolling up. Because of this it can protect itself from danger.

This Fossil Flexicalymene Trilobite is a must have piece for any trilobite Ohio fossil collector. Because this trilobite has exceptional detail and has been reattached to matrix it is a welcome addition to any collection.

The matrix block is an irregular 2 1/2 by 2 inches. The 3/4 enrolled is 1 inch long and the completely enrolled trilobite is 5/8 wide.
