PSEUDOSTACUS hakelensis Lobster from the Cretaceous deposits of the Sannine formation. These are some of the best you can find.
These deposits near Haqel Lebanon preserve creatures in exquisite detail. There are several locations like this around the world with such preservation on a cream colored limestone.
The creatures died and were buried very quickly to prevent decay and disarticulation by scavengers. The exoskeleton on this one is exceptional and photos do not do this piece justice. The claws are both present as are the antennae. The tail is curled in death. Quite a show piece.
This one is 2 3/4 long, 5 inches including antenna on a cream colored matrix 6 1/2 by 3 3/4.
