This diminutive trilobite is from the famous “Red Beds” of the Wheeler Shale Formation in Millard County Utah. This demonstrate the fossilization that renders the “red” color.

The preparation lands this specimen in the top percentages of preservation and preparation. It exhibits exquisite detail and color set on a light gray matrix. Amid the jumble of discarded body segments lay an exceptionally colored ELRATHIA kingii. A small piece of another ELRATHIA lays across the thorax and tail. The eyes are set clear and high on the cephalon. Beautiful preparation.

This has been meticulously prepared using air abrasive technology and is as near to perfect as possible. It was prepared by one of the country’s best preparators and trilobite collectors.

The ELRATHIA  is 2.1 cm.

The matrix is irregularly shaped 9 cm by 7 cm
