This is an exceptional TRIMURUS delphinocephalus BUT ONLY THE THORAX AND PYGIDIUM. There is a second pygidium on the plate as well. These trilobites are even more rare than the RARE Arctinurus.
These fossils were collected decades ago and just recently prepared by our prep lab..

Trilobites from this site are preserved in SPECTACULAR detail. Because of the wide variety and number of these crinoids it is also assumed they lived in dense communities,
Trilobites thrived in the warm inland sea that covered the area during the Silurian Period some 420 million years ago. The Trilobites living near what is now Middleport New York were established near a delta system that periodically buried the fossils in silt. This silt eventually hardened into stone that preserved the trilobites in glorious detail.
This Trilobite has exceptional detail . It is 2 3/4 wide by 5 3/4 tall. It has been meticulously prepared using air abrasive technology.
