Description
This is a T-Rex Fossil Bone from a Dinosaur that was 26 years old. Verified by the Black Hills Institute.
This was found in the Hell Creek Formation of Carter County, South Dakota.
This T-rex Fossil Bone is from the Pelvic Girdle of a Tyrannosaurus. It was discovered September 13, 2007. It was examined and identified by the Black Hills Institute. They also were able to determine the age of the dinosaur at time of death at 26 years of age. This bone is a section of the pubis. But unfortunately it is incomplete. Complete bones are hard to find and when found are extremely expensive. They are hard to find because of scavenger dinosaurs and bone decay. But also the bones are very brittle. If not excavated correctly they will literally fall apart. But this one has been stabilized.
Photos of one of the broken ends of the bone clearly shows the growth rings of the bone. Because the photo was taken with a microscope camera individual lines can be seen. It was also determined that T-Rex Fossil Bone came from a dinosaur that was 26 years old at time of death.
This was purchased by a museum development company that I was associated with that was constructing dinosaur exhibit. But this was to the exhibit. Because the company then closed I was able to purchase this magnificent bone. It can now be offered to the public.
This is your opportunity to own this exceptional fossil. The preservation is outstanding. This is a solid bone prepared and stabilized and it is 7 pounds and 4 ounces. The total length is just over 10 inches.
