Description

Nice Olenellus chiefensis trilobite. Just look at the detail in this plate collected and cleaned by World Famous Trilobite Expert, Markus Martin.

This trilobite block is a nice quality Trilobite from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. This is a nice bug that exhibits good detail and it is very inflated for the species. Please look closely at the detail.

Here is an Undetermined Olenellus Trilobite from the early Cambrian Period, the “Age of Trilobites.”  They lived, thrived, and became extinct Millions of years before the age of dinosaurs!  Trilobites spanned a time that  covered 5 periods spanning over 300 million years of Earth’s history. This was found and prepared by trilobite expert Markus Marin.

Markus is known world over because of his knowledge of these fossils. He has been digging trilobites and other fossils around the country and the world. Because of some of his finds were so special, he has published many papers on the subject of trilobites.

This Undetermined Olenellus Trilobite is one of a few that are undermined and more study is needed. Because it is undermined it may be a new species. This one comes from the Pioche Shale of Nevada.  So here is a very nice trilobite from the Cambrian Period, the “Age of Trilobites.”  They lived, thrived, and became extinct MILLIONS of years before the age of dinosaurs!

This great piece is a must have for all fossil lovers.  With the  rock measuring 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches, this Undetermined Olenellus Trilobite measures 5/8 inch and is missing the tail. But there is a second very large head section of another Olenellus.

Olenellus, genus of trilobites common in, but restricted to, Cambrian rocks and thus a useful guide fossil for the Early Cambrian. Olenellus had a well-developed head, large and crescent like eyes, and a poorly developed, small tail.

This is a beautiful trilobite and a great piece to add to any rock collection. It comes in this sturdy cardboard box and is protected by high density foam.
